The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation hosted its biggest fundraiser of the year on September 22 at Gaelic Park in Oak Forest. Nearly 125 attendees witnessed a remarkable evening that included a delicious buffet dinner and musical entertainment by Big End Productions along with chances to win exciting prizes through silent and live auctions and raffles.
Honorary Chairperson Emilio Ruiz (age 7 and a cancer survivor) attended the gala event and was joined by his family in acknowledging the support of an enthusiastic crowd. Throughout the evening, the words and actions of all those present reflected the Foundation's gratitude for the loyal support it has received as well as the incredible strength and courage of the children and families who are battling childhood cancer. The final tally shows the End of Summer Beach Party raised more than $26,000.
