Divine Providence Church in Westchester celebrated the spirit of giving during their annual Christmas in July toy drive to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. Parishioners raised 100's of toys and gift certificates to help children and teens fighting cancer.
Divine Providence toy drive Chairwoman Eileen Gorski said, "We are glad we could host another toy drive and we hope we can do more next year. It's simple, all we want to do are put smiles on the children's faces who are fighting cancer."
Blanche Chirbas whose granddaughter benefitted nine years ago from the Treasure Chest Foundation said "My Granddaughter knew she was getting a shot, however she also knew she was getting a toy from the Treasure Chest and it made the shot easier to receive."
