Thank you for this honor, but it really belongs to all who help the Treasure Chest Foundation and to those who diligently run the toy drives . . . to people like the grandma and daughter from Lombard who come in with a carload of toys every month or so, to all who do so many things in their homes. Each action is a piece of fabric that allows the Treasure Chest Foundation to run smoother.
During a treasure chest opening my son said, "I wish I wasn't here." In other words, he wished there was no cancer and that he wasn't needed to give that speech. But we see cancer is all around us and know that it doesn't care who it hits. We as a group are helping to put that smile on the faces of those who suffer. I thank God my family and I are healthy so that we can continue doing what we do.
Lastly, I thank you for your generous time and responses which have helped to make this event a success. We are all volunteers and that's what makes this world a better place.
