Webster’s dictionary defines a
volunteer as “one who enters into or offers himself for a service of
his own free will.”
While that definition may be
accurate, it doesn’t quite reflect the positive impact made by the
volunteers who freely devote their time and energy on behalf of the
Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF).
POTCF volunteers may contribute
by performing direct fundraising efforts or by assisting with the
planning, promoting or hosting of an annual fundraising event such
as the Toys for Our Treasures Retro Dance Party or the Heart of Gold
Gala Dinner and Silent Auction. In addition, we always need
volunteers to help collect the toys that fill our Treasure Chests.
If you’re interested in becoming
a POTCF volunteer and making a difference in the life of a child or
teenager fighting cancer, please contact Colleen Kisel by phoning
708-633-TOYZ (8699) or by sending an email to
potcf@sbcglobal.net
Your efforts to help support the
POTCF will be greatly appreciated and will make a difference in the
ongoing battle against childhood cancer.
Whether it’s a phone call to
raise much-needed funding or labeling the envelopes for one of our
mailings, the diligent efforts of those dedicated volunteers
pictured here have helped the POTCF provide toys and smiles to kids
with cancer.
